Tyler Farr – Director
Originally from Northern California, Farr grew up acting in theater before deciding to alter his focus towards directing, bringing his true love of comedy into dozens of projects behind the camera.
He moved to Utah to pursue a B.S. degree in Digital Media with an emphasis in film and gained great experience by working on commercials and films, including House of Fears, The Adventures of Food Boy, and Abandoned Mine. He then moved to Los Angeles, where he attended the New York Film Academy, gaining a Producing M.F.A. degree in Film and Television.
Tyler directed his first comedy feature film in 2011, The Good, the Bad and the Coyote, about a “Coyote” who smuggles people through Canada’s borders. It received attention at the Las Vegas and Canada International Film Festivals and he won a “Best Director Award” at the AIFF. A Distribution company has just agreed to purchase the film which will expand the film festival market first before a world wide distribution. He is super duper excited to be on board with Winning Formula.
Claudia Pickering – Writer, Producer
Claudia Pickering is an Australian writer, actor and producer.
As co-founder of both Do It Live Productions and Heaps Funny Shorts, Pickering’s original comedy projects have seen her collaborate with various artists including Danny Trejo, completing two short films, several web series’ including ‘Keith and Kev’, ‘Wookie Error‘ and ‘Banjacks and Pervis‘, and two theatre projects through Consuming The Arts Theatre in Los Angeles.
In 2012 her comedy feature film ‘Winning Formula’ was picked up by LFL Entertainment off the back of ‘Dead Broke‘, a television pilot she wrote and produced with Do It Live Productions.
Pickering has performed in many lead roles in the areas of both theatre and film. She has trained in comedy improvisation, acting and production at the Upright Citizens Brigade in Los Angeles, the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in Sydney, and New York Film Academy (NYFA) in Los Angeles having been awarded a talent-based scholarship.
Pickering is also holds a Masters degree in Architecture, and produces visual arts projects around the San Francisco Bay Area under the alias THEDARCLAUD.
Colby Oliver – Director of Photography
Oliver grew up near the rugged northern Californian coast. Places like Stinson Beach and Mt. Tamalpais became familiar backdrops for his youthful adventure. Adventure has been a constant theme in Colby’s lifestyle, taking him over boarders and across oceans.
Propelled by an early experience in editing, Colby pursued an education at San Diego State University. Immersion in the filmmaking process allowed Colby to clearly see his passion was in cinematography.
Oliver left SDSU with an offer to operate camera for the San Diego Padres in-house crew. Hard work, skillful operating, and an easy-going attitude opened doors for Oliver in the world on sports broadcast television. He operated camera for Fox-Sports and ESPN.
The American Film Institute invited Colby to join the ’09 incoming class of 28 internationally selected cinematographers. 2 years later, the challenging and comprehensive schedule successfully installed Colby with a story-driven approach to his cinematography.
In 2012, Colby shot the dramatic thriller ‘Ice Scream‘ for Little Studio Films. The opportunity came after camera-operating indy-features and shooting 2nd Unit for several ASC cinematographers. In between features, Colby shoots commercials on spec with filmmakers from his AFI class. Their Chevy ad “Range Anxiety” placed 3rd and won a cash prize at MoFilm Barcelona.
Oliver has a particular love for comedy and recently worked as 2nd Unit Director of Photography & “A” Camera Operator on feature film ‘It’s a Disaster‘ starring David Cross, Julia Stiles, and America Ferrera.
Tim O’Neill – Editor
Tim is an award-winning filmmaker with a passion for storytelling. As an Editor, he’s worked for various agencies and boutiques on commercials, TV shows, documentaries, narrative feature films, corporate shorts and web series. With a particular love of comedy, finding and telling the story is always his singular goal.
His dramatic feature “The Unidentified”, won numerous awards including “Best First Feature” at the First Glance Philadelphia Film Festival. The film is available on Netflix and Amazon and had its television premiere as part of WNET’s Reel 13 Independent Film Program. His comedy web series “Compulsive Love” has garnered over 200k views across several online video platforms and was an Official Selection at the New York Television Festival.
